“Jazz Tapestries” is a mesmerizing exploration of the stories and emotions woven into jazz music, blending beloved standards with innovative contemporary works. Featuring renowned vocalist Renée Collins Georges, a former Raelette who toured with the legendary Ray Charles, the performance captures her soulful voice, dynamic artistry, and rich musical history.

This unforgettable show highlights Renée’s original works, including “What Sound Does Your Color Make,” a compelling piece reflecting on themes of resilience and social justice, and her unique interpretations of timeless classics like “La Vie En Rose” and “What’s Goin’ On.”  A fusion of heartfelt storytelling and masterful arrangements, “Jazz Tapestries” promises an engaging and emotional journey for all jazz enthusiasts.

About Renée Collins Georges – Acclaimed Vocalist, Songwriter, and Multi-Faceted Creative

Renowned for her radiant stage presence and soulful, resonant voice, Renée Collins Georgeshas captivated audiences worldwide as a celebrated jazz vocalist and multifaceted creative force. A former Raelette with the legendary Ray Charles Orchestra, Renée‘s six-year global journey as a touring artist included a groundbreaking milestone—she was the first and only Raelette to perform while pregnant.

In collaboration with her husband, trombonist and educator DuPort Georges, Renée leads the ensemble GEORJAZZ, bringing her original compositions and fresh interpretations of jazz classics to life. Her songwriting talents shine in crowd favorites like “My Birthday Wish For You”and “What Sound Does Your Color Make”, featured in her forthcoming debut jazz album.

Renée‘s rich career encompasses headline performances, songwriting, and arranging. She has lent her talents to acclaimed projects such as a blues recording session with Bruce Williams, Walter Blanding, and Wycliffe Gordon, as well as the “America the Beautiful” tribute to Ray Charles. Notable appearances include Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater with vocalist Diane Schuur, and Berklee College of Music’s symposium on Ray Charles.

A dedicated educator, Renée inspires future generations through her music initiative, Kidz MusiQ Club, and the Jazzing Up Learning! program. This innovative arts project blends acoustic jazz with engaging educational experiences for children, supported by Renée‘s own family of collaborators.

In addition to her artistic accomplishments, Renée is a Grammy-voting member of the Recording Academy, a Bronze Telly Award-winning voice-over talent, and an approved artist on the Maryland State Arts Council roster. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts from the University of the District of Columbia, graduating magna cum laude.

Renée also embraces dual passions as a licensed Realtor®, known as “Your Singing House Hunter,” helping clients find their dream home. She lives by the motto that “Faith and family are at the heart of all I do,” blending artistry, education, and community service into a vibrant and inspiring career.
