Kenny Rittenhouse is a highly regarded trumpeter, composer, and bandleader whose career spans more than three decades across jazz, classical, and commercial music. A longtime member of the United States Army Blues, he has performed nationally and internationally with one of the premier big bands in the country. Rittenhouse has shared the stage with an extraordinary list of jazz greats, including Jimmy Heath, Ahmad Jamal, and Freddy Cole, among many others.

As leader of the Kenny Rittenhouse Ensemble, his performances blend straight-ahead jazz with modern sensibilities, showcasing his melodic approach and sophisticated improvisation. His ensembles have appeared at major venues and festivals throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, earning acclaim for their tight arrangements and dynamic interplay.

Beyond his performance career, Rittenhouse is a dedicated educator. He serves on the music faculty at Morgan State University and has taught throughout the Washington, D.C. area, mentoring young musicians and contributing to the growth of the region’s jazz community.

With his deep musical roots, artistic versatility, and commitment to the craft, Kenny Rittenhouse remains a cornerstone of the DMV jazz scene—bringing skill, soul, and authenticity to every performance.
