Roberta Gambarini – Italian Jazz Virtuosa on the Main Stage

Join us on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 8:30 PM, for the premiere of Main Stage Session 1, featuring the stellar jazz vocalist Roberta Gambarini. Her blend of effortless phrasing, deep tone and rhythmic acuity will set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Born in Turin, Italy, into a family passionately devoted to jazz, Roberta’s musical path began early—studying clarinet at age 12 and singing in clubs by age 17. In 1998 she moved to the United States to study at the New England Conservatory in Boston, and soon after placed third in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition—a breakthrough that paved the way for a global career.

Gambarini has collaborated with jazz luminaries including James Moody, Hank Jones, Roy Hargrove and many others, and is a two-time Grammy® nominee in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category. She was named twice as “Female Jazz Singer of the Year” by the Jazz Journalists Association (2007 & 2009). The late saxophone legend Benny Carter once described her as his favorite singer—a testament to her command and artistry. Legendary saxophonist and singer, James Moody, became her mentor and teacher which introduced her to many of the major venues in the world.

Her repertoire seamlessly weaves bebop urgency, swing sensibility and melodic elegance—making her performance not just a concert but a masterclass in jazz voice. Don’t miss Roberta Gambarini as she takes the Main Stage and delivers a night of vocal brilliance.
