Celebrating the Centennials – John Coltrane & Miles Davis: love, resilience, and renewal
2026 Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival | Sunday, February 15 | Time: 8:00-9:00 PM | Ronnie’s Stage
Step into the sound. Tapestries of a Supreme Love is a soulful exploration of the spirit, passion, and legacy of John Coltrane—woven through the artistry of vocalist Renée Collins Georges, a former Raelette who once toured the world with the legendary Ray Charles.
Now a headliner in her own right, Renée’s luminous voice and evocative storytelling meet the vibrant interplay of her GEORJAZZ Quintet—pianist José André Montaño, bassist Eliot Seppa, drummer Phil Thomas, special guest Elijah Easton on the saxophone, and Renée’s husband, trombonist DuPort Georges. Together, they move effortlessly through reimagined standards like My One and Only Love, They Say It’s Wonderful, Say It (Over and Over Again), All Blues, So What, Giant Steps, Body and Soul, You Don’t Know What Love Is, and Footprints—infusing every note with warmth, depth, and discovery.
Renée’s original compositions, What Sound Does Your Color Make, a compelling piece reflecting on social justice, and Lullaby of Winter, bridge the timeless and the contemporary, celebrating resilience, beauty, and the profound human stories that live inside the music.
This is more than a concert—it’s a journey through sound, soul, and legacy, honoring two jazz icons whose work continues to inspire generations.
✨ Don’t miss Renée’s return to the Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival—a performance that promises to warm hearts, stir spirits, and move all who listen.
